We treat this in-app content as sensitive. We do not sell or share this content, and we do not use it for advertising, marketing, or attribution purposes. It is used only to provide the app's features to you. This content is never shared with Meta or any other advertising partner.

We may collect personal information from the following sources:
- Directly from you including when you create an account, visit or use the Services, communicate with us, or otherwise provide us with your personal information.
- Automatically through the Services including from your device when you use our products or services or visit our website, store, or mobile app, and through the use of cookies, SDKs, and similar technologies.
- From our service providers including when we engage them to enable certain technology and when they collect or process your personal information on our behalf, such as Shopify, RevenueCat, Flodesk, and Meta.
- From our partners or other third parties.
How We Use Your Personal Information
Depending on how you interact with us or which of the Services you use, we may use personal information for the following purposes:
- Provide, Tailor, and Improve the Services. To provide you with the Services, including to perform our contract with you, process your payments, fulfill your orders, manage your subscription, remember your preferences, send notifications related to your account, process purchases, returns, exchanges, or other transactions, create, maintain, and manage your account, arrange for shipping, facilitate returns and exchanges, enable you to post reviews, and create a customized experience for you. This may include using your personal information to better tailor and improve the Services.
- Marketing and Advertising. To send marketing, advertising, and promotional communications by email, text message, or postal mail, and to show you online advertisements for our products or services on the Services or other websites and platforms, including based on items you previously purchased or added to your cart and other activity on the Services. This includes measuring the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, as described under "Advertising and Analytics (Meta SDK)" below.
- Security and Fraud Prevention. To authenticate your account, provide a secure payment and shopping experience, detect, investigate, or take action regarding possible fraudulent, illegal, unsafe, or malicious activity, protect public safety, and secure our Services. If you register an account, you are responsible for keeping your account credentials safe, and we recommend you do not share them with anyone else.
- Communicating with You. To provide customer support, be responsive to you, provide effective Services, and maintain our business relationship with you.
- Legal Reasons. To comply with applicable law or respond to valid legal process, including requests from law enforcement or government agencies, to investigate or participate in civil discovery, potential or actual litigation, or other adversarial legal proceedings, and to enforce or investigate potential violations of our terms or policies.
How We Disclose Personal Information
In certain circumstances, we may disclose your personal information to third parties for legitimate purposes subject to this Privacy Policy. Such circumstances may include:
- With service providers and vendors who perform services on our behalf, including Shopify (website and store hosting, payment processing), RevenueCat (subscription and purchase management), Flodesk (email communications), and Meta (advertising measurement), as well as others providing IT management, data analytics, customer support, cloud storage, fulfillment, and shipping.
- With business and marketing partners to provide marketing services and advertise to you. For example, we use Shopify to support personalized advertising with third-party services, and we use the Meta (Facebook) SDK as described below. Our business and marketing partners will use your information in accordance with their own privacy notices. Depending on where you reside, you may have a right to direct us not to share information about you for targeted advertising based on your activity across different merchants and websites. You can exercise these rights as described under "Your Rights and Choices" below.
- When you direct, request, or consent to our disclosure of certain information to third parties, such as to ship you products or through your use of social media widgets or login integrations.
- With our affiliates or otherwise within our corporate group.
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger or bankruptcy, to comply with applicable legal obligations (including responding to subpoenas, search warrants, and similar requests), to enforce applicable terms of service or policies, and to protect or defend the Services, our rights, and the rights of our users or others.
Advertising and Analytics (Meta SDK)
Saint Steps uses the Meta (Facebook) SDK in its mobile app to measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns. Through this SDK, we may share limited app event data with Meta, such as when the Saint Steps app is installed and when a purchase or subscription occurs, along with certain device or technical identifiers associated with those events (which may include a mobile advertising identifier where permitted).
We do not use the Meta SDK to track your progress within Saint Steps, your responses, journal entries, challenges, streaks, fasting activity, Panic Button use, or any other in-app content. That in-app content is never shared with Meta. Meta SDK automatic event logging beyond the specific events described above has been disabled.
This data is used only to measure advertising performance and to attribute installs and purchases to our advertising campaigns. Where you have granted the permissions described below, certain advertising identifiers shared with Meta may be linked to your identity by Meta so that a purchase or install can be matched to an advertising campaign. Where you have not granted those permissions, we rely on privacy-preserving, aggregated measurement that does not identify you individually. Meta processes any information it receives in accordance with its own privacy policy, available at https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy.
If you use the app on iOS: you will be asked for permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking-related data is shared with Meta. If you decline, we will not share tracking identifiers with Meta for advertising attribution, and only privacy-preserving aggregated measurement will apply. You can change your choice at any time in your device Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.
If you use the app on Android: you can limit ad tracking and reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device Settings under Privacy or Ads.
Relationship with Shopify
Our website and store are hosted by Shopify, which collects and processes personal information about your access to and use of them in order to provide and improve those Services for you. Information you submit through the website or store will be transmitted to and shared with Shopify as well as third parties that may be located in countries other than where you reside, in order to provide and improve those Services. In addition, to help protect, grow, and improve our business, we use certain Shopify enhanced features that incorporate data and information obtained from your interactions with our store, along with other merchants and with Shopify. In these circumstances, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information, including for responding to your requests to exercise your rights over that information. To learn more, you can visit the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy at https://www.shopify.com/legal/consumer-privacy-policy. Depending on where you live, you may exercise certain rights with respect to your personal information through Shopify's privacy portal at https://privacy.shopify.com/en.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, SDKs, and similar technologies to operate and personalize the Services, remember your preferences, measure the performance of our marketing, and understand how the Services are used. On our website, you can manage certain cookie preferences through your browser settings or any cookie controls we make available. In the mobile app, tracking-related technologies are governed by the platform permissions described in the Meta SDK section above.
Third Party Websites and Links
The Services may provide links to websites or other online platforms operated by third parties. If you follow links to sites not affiliated with or controlled by us, you should review their privacy and security policies and other terms and conditions. We do not guarantee and are not responsible for the privacy or security of such sites, including the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of information found on them. Information you provide on public or semi-public venues, including information you share on third-party social networking platforms, may also be viewable by others without limitation as to its use by us or by a third party. Our inclusion of such links does not, by itself, imply any endorsement of those platforms or their operators, except as disclosed on the Services.
Children's Data
The Services are not intended to be used by children, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information about children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction. If you are the parent or guardian of a child who has provided us with their personal information, you may contact us using the details below to request that it be deleted. As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not have actual knowledge that we "share" or "sell" (as those terms are defined in applicable law) the personal information of individuals under 16 years of age.
Security and Retention of Your Information
Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." Any information you send to us may not be secure while in transit, and we recommend that you do not use unsecure channels to communicate sensitive or confidential information to us.
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. In general:
- Account and subscription information is retained for as long as your account or subscription is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations and to resolve disputes.
- Transaction and payment records are retained as long as needed to complete the transaction and as required by applicable tax, accounting, and legal recordkeeping obligations.
- Marketing and communications data is retained until you unsubscribe or object, and for a reasonable period afterward.
- Advertising and analytics event data shared with partners such as Meta is retained by us only as needed to measure campaign performance; the retention of data received by Meta is governed by Meta's own policies.
Where we no longer need your personal information, we will delete it or de-identify it. The specific retention period for a category depends on factors such as whether we need the information to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements.

Depending on where you reside, you may have a right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information, or of its processing for "targeted advertising" or "cross-context behavioral advertising," as defined by applicable privacy laws. Sharing app install and purchase events with Meta to measure and attribute advertising may be considered "sharing" under some of these laws.
